Prenatal visits are offered from a birth justice perspective, focusing on education and empowerment. We take the time to address your physical and emotional needs to ensure that your prenatal experience is one that you'll enjoy. We offer support for breastfeeding/chestfeeding initiation and any nursing complications that may come up.
Annual visits include cancer and infection screening and address reproductive wellness concerns.
We offer justice driven, data informed analysis of healthcare systems and maternal-child healthcare.
Sarah Davis (she/her/hers) is a mom, healthcare provider, and health policy advocate. She attended La Jolla High School, Pomona College, and Bastyr University, where she earned a Masters in Maternal-Child Health Systems. She lives in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego with her partner Gray and their blended family of three elementary aged kids.
As a licensed midwife and lactation consultant, Sarah has provided prenatal, birth, postpartum, lactation, and family planning care across San Diego county, in community health centers, private practices, and homes. She co-founded a freestanding center in Chula Vista, Birth Roots Women's Health & Maternity Center, in 2010 and owned and practiced there until 2014. She currently provides prenatal, postpartum, lactation, and annual reproductive health.
Sarah advocates for universal single-payer healthcare, birth & reproductive justice, human rights in childbirth, and building a culturally congruent healthcare workforce. She has lobbied in Sacramento regarding midwifery and maternal-child health issues and has been active in many local and national childbirth & reproductive health organizations.
